WHO ARE YOU?

Stacy and Mimi are two writers in their midlife who realized that there is a need for an online publication that caters to women who are not in their twenties, but yet not old enough to let their hair go grey and start wearing sweatpants. Women in their forties and fifties whose lives are vibrant, who may be starting over with a new career, new relationship, empty nest or even new friendships need to be heard. Living the Second Act is a platform for these voices.

WHY SHOULD I SUBSCRIBE TO LTSA?
Do you find yourself looking for articles from real people about midlife but they don’t speak to you because they feel too far away from where you are? Living the Second Act is a hipper version of all of those women in midlife publications. We are edgier with our fashion and beauty, with our dating columns. However, we still understand that late forties to middle fifties is a time of changes we may not be prepared for and we will take the journey with you to discover what these changes are.
WHAT WILL I READ ABOUT?
Women stepping into life’s second act can mean many things to different people. Maybe it is divorce and dating, changing a beauty routine, cleaning out a house and moving, or being alone after the kids leave the house. Perhaps you want to read about what to wear to a job interview or what foods are healthiest for midlife, we will have it all.
HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE AND HOW OFTEN WILL I RECEIVE YOUR MAGAZINE?
Click here for your free subscription that will be dropped in your email box once a week.
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR SUBMISSIONS?
Absolutely! Living the Second Act wants well thought out pieces of approximately 750 words, along with a photo and bio of the author. We want to build a community of women just like us and in order to do this; we want to hear a symphony of diverse voices.  Click here to submit your article.
HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME LIVING THE SECOND ACT?
We think that our late forties/early fifties is a great time to try new things. When we decided to partner together – two strangers who met through writing – we wanted to bring something fresh to the clutter of online publications and tell women that living a second act can be an adventure.  We hope you will join us on our journey.
WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST WRITE A BLOG? WHY BOTHER DOING A MAGAZINE?
A blog is a wonderful thing. In fact, Stacy began her career with The Widow Wears Pink, which was her way of expressing grief and helping other widows after her husband died at a young age. When we partnered, we felt that we wanted to showcase other women’s voices who are going through this midlife phase and not wanting it to be all about grey hair and lack of sex drive. With a magazine we have a platform for everyone to share thoughts and opinions that are important to many.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR LIVING THE SECOND ACT?
We want to see comments at the bottom of the articles that say something like this “I could really relate to this topic. Thank you for publishing it.” And we also hope that more people than our family and immediate friends subscribe to Living The Second Act.
